Good Morning crafters from a very hot and sunny Cyprus. We're in the middle of a heatwave here. So if you plan to visit this week remember to bring plenty of sun protection.
We had some great stamped image entries from you last time and choosing a winner is going to be difficult. Our challenge this time at CD Sunday was chosen by yours truly....'Rock Star'. Both my oldest grand daughters love Rock bands. Mind you I couldn't name any of them or understand the words of the songs but they love 'Rock' . Of course my days of Rock and Roll are long gone but remembered fondly. Now I can list those bands and remember the words to the songs!! What does that tell you eh!! The youngsters think they invented 'Rock' don't they..... but not so.
Anyway I digress from the challenge. This is my inspiration for your and one for the young Rockers.
I made this card for my oldest grand daughter who had a birthday recently. The background papers and inside image are from Debbie Moore Steam Punk CD. The guitar image on the front is a CUP image.....not sure who the designer was but if you recognise it let me know please.
The 'rock audience' inside front was paper from my stash. The tag' For someone special' is also from the Debbie Moore CD and the 'Happy Birthday' is CUP.
I hope this has inspired you. I 've gone for 'Rock Stars' today but you could also use something from the Rock and Roll era or Stars or Guitars.......your choice. You can find more ideas from my teamies on the CD Sunday challenge page (link in sidebar) .
Have a crafty week and stay cool if you are visiting our hot, hot island.

'Sunflowers' and 'Hollyhocks'
As promised a selection of the many photographs I took of the Sunflowers whilst in the Bordeaux region of France.
There were also lots of hollyhocks growing wild and the village we stayed in was known as the hollyhocks village.
Hollyhocks by the side of the road The house with the blue shutters is where we stayed with our friends.
Enjoy!!

#185 ''Christmas in July"
Good morning crafters. I have just returned from my wonderful holiday in France. We were in the region of Bordeaux where wine is made but being TT I wasn't able to partake!!! The countryside is wonderful and my overriding memory is of fields and fields of sunflowers ( I'll put piccies on a separate post) . As far as the eye could see there were sunflowers and the fields of vines were so neat.....unlike here in Cyprus.
On to this fortnights challenge now at Ooh La La. It's 'Christmas in July' but I must say the weather here is very hot so not a bit like Christmas!! The image I have chosen is from OLL's 'Festive Funnies' which you can purchase from ooh-la-la-creations.
As you can see the card was simply made with a A4 card folded to create a 'tent' card. The background paper is from the same CD. I added some peel off stars down each side to finish. The greeting is also on there so need to add one. An easy peasy make thanks to this very useful Christmas CD.
Don't forget to check out Ooh La La challenges (link in sidebar) to see if you were a winner for Deb's challenge 'All that Glitters' . We had some fabulous entries so thank you for those.....think you all like your bling!! I'm sure we'll have lots of entries this time too as we all need to make an early start on those Christmas cards don't we. So what are you waiting for pop over to OLL challenges and check out what the rest of the design team have created to inspire you.
Have a great week and keep cool!!

" Add a Stamped Image'
Another scheduled post from me as I'm 'jet setting' again and won't be back until later this week.
It's time for our fortnightly challenge over at CD Sunday and this time Christine has asked us to get those stamps out and add a stamped image along with elements from a CD. I must say stamping is not my forte and I hate colouring in even more so this was truly a challenge for me. This is what I've created.
I borrowed a stamp from a fellow crafter and stamped the sleigh onto red card stock.....eliminates the colouring in for me!! I then heat embossed it with red glitter embossing powder. I fussy cut the image ready to place on the layout. I looked through my Christmas CDs and selected a background paper, topper and bunting from 'Makey Bakey Mice at Christmas' by Crafters Companion. Found some red string in my stash and hung the bunting on this. Not too pleased with this but it could be me just not happy with my stamped images!!
If you pop over to CD Sunday (link in sidebar) you will find some fab creations from the rest of the Design Team.....much better than this. I know we have lots of stampers out there so this challenge to mix and match it with elements from a CD will be fun for you.
Enjoy and I look forward to visiting you when I return from my 'jet setting'.

#184 'All that Glitters'
Another challenge awaits you at Ooh La La. This time we are looking for things that glitter and it has been chosen by Deb.
Thank you for showing us your creations for our last challenge 'Happy Birthday". Click on the link to the challenge blog on the side bar and see if you were a winner....fingers crossed.
I am scheduling this post so fingers crossed it's worked. After my exhausting trip to the UK I'm now jetting off again to visit friends in France. I've been promising them for years that I'd visit and have never got around to it. They're planning on selling up shortly so if we don't go now I'll have missed the 'boat'.
I found a lovely image on the 'Say it with words' CD.

The lovely sunshine balloons were perfect I thought for this challenge, I love seeing the sun glittering in the bright blue sky here in Cyprus in the Summer.
I used some sunshine yellow card stock to make an A5 card and placed the matching background paper to one side. I angled the image and added gems to the border, which I covered in gold stickle. I had some gold tinsel in my Christmas stash and I made this into a golden ball adding a thread of gold beads. The 'Best Wishes' greeting is also glittery.
This was an easy make for me as I usually try to make my cards in different shapes but I think the image had to be the 'star' with this one. Mmmmmmm stars now there's an idea!!!....very glittery....
I hope this has tempted you to join in the challenge. If you need further inspiration don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the team have created for you.
I look forward to visiting you and giving you some love. Have a happy sunshine day!!

#48 "Grab a bunch....of flowers" with the Unstampabelles
Good Morning or should I say 'Good Evening' if you're in Cyprus or the UK and 'Good Morning' if you're in Tasmania......due to time differences it's morning already 'down under'.
Yes it's time for our next monthly challenge with the Belles. This time the challenge is to get creative and make your own flowers and the twist is to 'Make a Garden'.
I made a box card and put handmade flowers in it to represent my take of a garden. So a 'garden in a box'. You can find videos on You Tube for the instructions for making the box card. It's very easy to make and folds flat for posting......well flattish in my case as those flowers are a bit bulky!!
This is how I made them. I took a piece of coloured pare and cut it thus.....
It's a long narrow triangle and the fringing is cut evenly across one side. Then all I did was to roll it starting at the narrow end. When rolled and secured with tape I gently pulled up the centre. Then curled the edges and Voila.....my flowers were created!! The green paper was cut free hand to represent the grass. I then added peel off balloons to acetate strips and placed them amongst the flowers. The greeting strip was made with white card stock and I added four matching peel off edging strips to represent a ribbon. The 'Birthday Wishes' greeting was from my stash....not sure where it's from originally.
I had fun so what are you waiting for. Everyone loves flowers and if you pop over to Unstampabelles (link in sidebar) where you will see other inspiring makes from my teamies.
Enjoy and I look forward to visiting your blogs to see your creations.

Susan is once again providing a great prize of this lovely embossing folder.
Now who wouldn't want to own that. I know I would .....isn't that worth getting creative for?
My garden is full of fruit trees but we do have flowers in pots around the patio and pool area so this is what inspired me to create my 'garden'.
This is my inspiration for you.
