'Flitter and Flutter!

Good Morning. It's time for another challenge at CD Sunday and this time Jenny has chosen a great theme "Flitter and Flutter'. I'm sure this will be a popular challenge.

Last time it was Carol's turn and we had some fab entries for 'Four Legs and a Tail". Don't forget to check the challenge blog soon to see if you're a winner.

For my inspiration for you I went for a great CD by Joanne Sheen "Holly Hill Pond'.

As you can see the colours of the images are not true to the original. When I printed off the background paper and then found some yummy pink matching card in my stash I decided to change the colour on the main images. So everything co ordinated and became pink and blue. Does it work? I'm not sure......looks pretty though.

I have gone with a new style of card too......as I do!! It's one sheet of A4 scored to make side panels with a strips cut away. When it folds the two smaller images overlap. I hope you can see from the photo how I've made it. I know, I should have done a step by step for you. If anyone wants more detail let me know and I'll email a template.

The 'Flitter and Flutter' element is the butterflies which were also from the CD, as were the sentiments.

I'll be interested in your comments as to how you think my transformation has worked......or not!!

The link to the challenge is in the side bar. So grab a cuppa and take a peep at the rest of the inspiration from my teamies. Don't forget to visit their blogs and give them some love too.

I hope you have a great week crafting and find inspiration to join in our challenge at CD Sunday.

#183 'Happy Birthday' with OLL

Good Morning. I am still in the UK so I am again scheduling a post.

It's time for another challenge at Ooh La La. We had some great entries for 'Here Comes Summer' and Allison has chosen her top three. So don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog (link in sidebar) to see if you're a winner.

This time Avril has chosen 'Happy Birthday'. We also need birthday cards so I know you'll enjoy this challenge and I think we'll get lots of entries.

I have chosen an image from the new Paula Oakley CD and it's a card I made for the launch of the CD on the Create and Craft TV show.

All the elements on this card are from the CD. I did add some flower gems. I however resisted the temptation to 'bling' it up as I didn't want to detract from the wonderful artwork. I made a gatefold card and closed it with the topper and bunting strip along the bottom.

Close up of the artwork. The camera doesn't do it justice. You can see every brush stroke. A work of art from a very talented lady.

I am sure you'll enjoy playing along with us and if you want to buy the CD pop over to Ooh La La where you'll find it and other fab CDs for you to enjoy.
Have fun and fingers crossed my scheduled post has worked.

'Four Legs and a Tail'

Good Morning. Well it's time for another challenge at CD Sunday. I am scheduling this post as I'll be visiting family and friends in the UK and access to a PC will be tricky. No doubt I'll be battling the elements and feeling tired out as everyone wants a little piece of me when I visit and as I haven't been for three years......long story.....there's a lot of catching up to do.

Last times challenge was to add Glitter and Bling. I think you had fun adding all those sparkles and were covered in glitter no doubt. Sue is busy sorting out her top three for this challenge so pop back soon to find out if you are a winner.

The challenge this fortnight is Carols choice and it's 'Four Legs and a Tail'. So time to dust off those CDs to find animal images. There are some great CDs out there and the team have come up with a variety to inspire you. I chose an image from the adorable Thelwell Pony range by Crafters Companion. This is part of a freebie CD I got with a magazine.

All the elements on my card are from the CD including the buttons, ribbon and greeting. The bottom layer has an interesting 'file tab' element to it. It could be use as a pull out tag but I use it for the main card. There are some really fun images on this CD. Worth investing in if you don't own it already.

Grab a cuppa and pop over to CD Sunday ( link in sidebar) to see what the rest of the DT have created and don't forget to visit their blogs to leave them some love. 9Fingers crossed this scheduled post has worked !!!)

Have a crafty fun week!!

# 182 Here Comes Summer

Good morning. Can I begin by saying that we had some fab entries for the # 181 'Circles and Squares' challenge that a chose for you......thank you. I have had a really difficult task trying to choose my top three. There were some very creative uses of circles and squares.......we have some very clever crafters in blog land.  If you pop over to the challenge blog now ( link in sidebar) you'll find out if you were a winner.....fingers crossed!!

Now for the next challenge at Ooh La La Allison is asking you to think of Summer. This is a favourite time of year for a lot of people with thoughts of sun, sea and sand or maybe camping and caravanning 'floats your boat'. What ever you think of when Summer is coming we want to see it in your crafty creations.

I thought about 'trying to keep cool' as Summers here in Cyprus are always really hot. So what better way to cool down than ice cones and ice lollipops. I found the perfect image on an Ooh La La CD, with the fab artwork of Shawn Jenkins. This is what I created......

It's a ice cream vendors stall using a shop awning idea from a You Tube tutorial......click link.....youtube 'shop awning'. This is only one of the many tutorials using the same basic idea. I'm sure if you do a search for 'awnings card' on You Tube you'll come up with many more. It was fairly easy to make and great fun.

The striped awning was card I had in my stash. The rest of the designer paper, ribbon strip, bow, sentiment and images are all from the Shawn Jenkins CD courtesy of OLL.

If you wish to purchase this CD just click on the OLL link

I hope you enjoy this challenge and I look forward to visiting you soon.
Have a great crafty week!!!
