'Shabby Chic' with Sue.

Good Morning fellow bloggers.

I'll begin this time's blog with some really sad news we had recently. One of our past teamies Wendy Rayner, aka Purple Crazy, has sadly passed away. Her family and friends are in my thoughts. Wendy was a lovely lady with a passion for card making and all crafts. More especially she loved the colour purple. She'll be sadly missed by many crafters here in blogland. So sad. RIP Wendy x.

Wendy RIP

The challenge last time was 'Everything stops for tea' and Jocelyn is having a busy time sorting out her top three as we had some fab entries from you all. It's Sue's turn this time and she's chosen Shabby Chic as her theme. So I am expecting to see lots of girly, lacey cards. This is my inspiration for you.

I have combined seveal elements to create this card. The background paper is from a Joanne Sheen CD 'Dancing with Shadows'. The shoe image and the flowers and sentiment are from the artwork of Janet Briggs at CUP. The lace edging is a Martha Stewart around the page punch.

I was going to put a link to You Tube tuts on here but if you search you can find many tutorials yourself for this style of card. So I'll leave the choice to you as when I searched I found many and I also found circular ones which I know I'll be trying out .....so watch this space!!

I began with black cardstock from my Lidl's pad......what would we do here without Lidl's. I swear my card stock pads are reproducing on the shelf. I seem to collected so many as each time they are on sale I HAVE to buy one. I daren't tell you how many I have but you can guess!!

After making the main shadow box I edged it using a Martha Stewart around the page lace punch. Then added the background paper to box and shelf and the stopper. I raised the stopper up to hold the greeting rather that lying it flat. This was a design I had seen by Janet Briggs at CUP and I thought it looked effective. The image and flowers are designs by Janet Briggs. I added flat backed gems to the centre of the flowers to bling it up.

So this is my idea of shabby chic but for more inspiration pop over to CD Sunday and  visit my teamies. (link in side bar) There are some fab card by the Design Team.

. I am looking forward to visiting you and have a fun week crafting!!

  10. Another of your lovely shapes Wynn. They are always so inspirational.. I wish I had more time to have a go but the parchment that I do is a bit time consuming. Better to admires others who do it so much better - or as my nephew used to say (when very small) - much more betterer.
