"Be Funny" with Unstampabelles.

Well it's still hot and sticky here in Cyprus but then we are in the hottest month of the year. But here comes September and the days will be getting cooler but not too cool I hear my visitors say. My son arrives this week so he's looking forward to lots of sunshine and lazy days by and in the pool. I'm looking forward to my hugs!!

Anyway on to this months card at Unstampabelles. Susan challenged us to "Be Funny" and the twist is to frame it. I found a cute, fun image for a Christmas card.

Yep!! They've lost Santa!! That reindeer looks like he couldn't care less but the penguin is pacing about like a pregnant father!!

The card was readymade silver card with an oblong aperture. This was so crying out to me to make a frame for it. I placed navy blue card stock behind and placed the scene centrally on it. Then I decoupaged the reindeer and penguin and put them outside of the frame.
I put silver stars down both sides to emphasise the frame. Then cut two strips of the same card to place at each side of the whole thing. This was edged with silver peel off wavy lines.

So  this is a cute, fun card ready for the Christmas box which is slowly get bigger! I hope you've been inspired and tempted to take a peek at Unstampabelles.....link in the side bar.The challenge is to make a funny card and the twist is Frame It!! Also you mustn't use stamps of any description on your entry. It is UNstampabelles after all.

This month Susan and her hubby The Woodman, are donating a prize to the winner.
Take a look. A Spellbinders Bracket Border die. Now who wouldn't love to win this.....sooooooo generous. Thank you x

Don't forget to visit my teamies too, as they have created some really funny cards.

'Get Well Soon' with Sue

Good Morning to you all from a hot and sticky Cyprus.

This fortnight at CD Sunday we are challenging you to make a 'Get Well' card. It's been chosen by our lovely Sue. I think this will be a popular challenge this fortnight as we all need this type of card in our box ready to give someone a little hug when they need it.

My card is made using on of my favourite CD's by Joanne Sheen 'Holly Hill Pond'. There are some delightful images on this CD suitable from all everyday occasions.

I used a readymade blank card, with deckled edge, in cream. The background paper, image and sentiment are all from the CD. I wrapped the DP around the card but left a small margin along three sides so that the deckled edge could be clearly featured.

I hope you find a few moments to pop over to CD Sunday and check out the other delightful creations my teamies have made. I hope you join in our challenge too but don't forget you must use something from a CD to be in with a chance of winning a wee gift from our lovely Sue.

Tissue Box

Well I think you liked the challenge over at Crafting with Dragonflies.....Stepper Cards.... but this week we've got something a bit more challenging but there are plenty of videos around to help you.
Our generous sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps
Prize: 7 digis of the winner's choice

The DT team got to play with some of their fab stamps. I chose a Silhouette, Butterfly and Flowers.....so pretty

The design for my tissue box is a template from a CD Debbi Moores Fabulous Giftware. The card stock was from a pack I got from Lidls. This was so easy to make......I kid you not!! I simply printed off the template and drew around it. Cut it out, scored it where it was marked and then glued it and put it together. Hey Presto!! A tissue box cover which fitted snuggly over a small box of tissues. I decorated the front with some translucent peel off dragonflies and some silver leaves. The image colour was done on my PC with a graphics programme........ as I'm rubbish at colouring in. I suppose I could have also printed it off on coloured paper/card.

My teamies have made some fab boxes.....all so very different. So off you pop and take a peep..... you won't be disappointed and don't forget to check out our fab sponsor.

Midway Inspiration at Unstampabelles.

Some great entries so far for this challenge at Unstampabelles where we are looking for a Significant Birthday card with the added twist.....  'Make it shaped'. Our sponsors are Regal Press. You've still got until the end of the month so plenty of time to enter.

My Midway inspiration is an octagonal card from Kanban which I've had in my stash for eons. Think one of my crafty friends sent me a pack many moons ago. There's all shapes and sizes so very useful indeed.

The Vintage car image and Happy Birthday sentiment are also from Kanban. The other sentiments 'To a Golden Oldie', 'Age is just a number' and 'With Love' are all from my 'useful in the future' box. The age number 75 is a gold peel off sticker. So lots of Golden Oldies here don't you think!!

I hope you find time to enter this challenge and pop over to visit our sponsor too....you won't be disappointed.

Quilted Fun with Jocelyn

Good Sunday Morning everyone. It's time for another fab challenge at CD Sunday. It was my choice of theme last week with 'food Glorious Food' and there were some stunning creations which doesn't make my job easy when choosing my Top Three. I'll be deciding this week and  a little something will shortly be winging it's way to you from Cyprus.
Now on to this weeks challenge chosen by Jocelyn "Quilted Fun". I had some fun going through my CDs looking for something suitable. At first I couldn't get my thoughts past either babies or get well cards but finally went with a quilted background paper as my focus.

The DP and sentiment are from Katy Sue's 'Grandmas Button Box'. The card is C6 in size and I used a template to make the trellis  fold along the top edging. Added an oblong aperture to centre in which to place the sentiment. The added silver circles are waste from peel offs.
This was a very simple card to make once I'd found some quilted paper to use.
My teamies have created some fab creations so don't forget to visit.....you won't be disappointed.
So have some Quilted Fun this week with Jocelyn and CD Sunday!!

Steppers with the Dragonflies

It's time for another challenge with the Dragonflies. Sorry I'm a wee bit late with this but had hospital appointments very early this morning which even with appointments system the time eats away when you're there. Anyway back to my late posting of our challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies this month. Hilde has challenged us to make a stepper card, which I love making, as you get to add lots of embellishments or sentiments on all the steps.

We have two fab sponsors for this one.

                                                                 Prize : 6 digis

Prize : $10 gift certificate

How generous are they!!!

We got to play with some of the sponsors digis and I chose one from Handmade Harbour.
I began by making a  side stepper blank card. Now I haven't measured it or anything just folded an A4 card then judged where the cuts should go for a side stepper. As I said I have made them before so basically know where to cut and fold. So sorry no link for you cos it was all in my head!!

I covered the card with DP from a selection I got from our last remaining craft shop which had a closing down sale, so there were a few bargains to be had. This one is covered with jolly sailing boats so perfect for the rest of my images. My craft group were doing some Iris folding so I chose to make a sailing boat using a variety of blue and white ribbons and silver card for the hull. I mounted it on pale blue card and then fussy cut around it. The iris is a blue star gem. This was then mounted on dark blue card stock and wavy peel offs added to give a sea effect. The tiny silver seagulls are peel off waste. The flag greeting at the top of the mast was a digi tag from Handmade Harbour from an earlier challenge.
The digi seagull on pebble stack is also from Handmade Harbour. The tag  greeting on the bottom step is the same dark blue as the 'mat' for the boat and I added a paler blue greeting 'It's Your Birthday', which I had in my stash. Think it was from a CD but not sure or which one sorry!! I added a strip of peel off ribbon across the top with Birthday Wishes on it to finish.

So that's my contribution this month for my Stepper card with the Dragonflies. Don't for to take a peep and see what the rest of my teamies have created. There are some fab designs and links to help you if you need instructions for making the stepper card.
Don't forget to visit our generous sponsors and check out some fab digis......you won't be disappointed!! Have fun guys making your stepper cards.

A Significant Birthday with Unstampabelles.

A new month and a new challenge from Unstampabelles. This month it's a Significant Birthday with a twist.......make a shaped card.

                                                             Our sponsor is Regal Craft.

Prize: $15 to spend in store

Regal Craft generously supplied the team with shaped cards to work with. Mine was a cupcake which I played with to create a card for a One year old......I think being One is very significant.......going from a baby to a toddler.

I used fluorescent pink corrugated card from my stash for the 'case' and the 'icing' was thin white foam which I also had in my stash from eons ago. I spread glue over the 'icing' and added 'sprinkles' of tiny stars and sequins from a pot stack I got as a gift from a friend. The tiny pots are in a multitude of colours and stack together. There's no name on them so not sure who supplies them. Hope someone will know so I can give credit.

The 'cherry' is a button which I snipped the stem off so it would lie flat on the top of the 'cake'. I covered it with Diamond Stickles. The candle was made from left over corrugated card and the flame was a snippet of the foam. I added an oval topper and ONE using peeloffs. A diecut pink heart with peel off dots and stars was added to the bottom to finish it.

The Diamond Stickles was then added to the icing and the flame to give it further sparkle.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing with this shaped card to make my Significant Birthday card for the challenge at Unstampabelles. Hope you'll be inspired to pop over and give it a go too. My teamies have used a variety of shapes and you'll be amazed at some of the shapes that have been used. If you still aren't sure what shape to use why don't you visit our sponsor Regal Craft and purchase one of their shaped cards, they have some interesting ones to choose from.
