Altered Clothes Pegs

Hilde has set another amazing challenge this fortnight over at Crafting with Dragonflies. She's challenge us to alter three clothes pins.  We were sponsor free and could use anything from our stash. I went for a simple alteration using sticky backed ribbon. I added some handmade card 'bubbles' for labels and I'm going to use them to organise my craft stash. I don't know about you but my hoard is either lying around loose in a box or in numerous small bags which I have to wade through everytime I'm looking for a hidden treasure at the bottom of the pile lol!! So I thought OK now's the time to do something about it. So I'm going to use the pegs to label all my 'rubbish' lol as my OH calls it......known better to you and I as 'treasure'.

I'm off to alter more now and to do a bit more tidying. My son returns to the UK today so I'll have time on my hands and it'll stop me from brooding!!!

Don't forget to pop over to the Dragonflies and see what the rest of the team have done with their altered clothes pegs. There's some great ideas!! And although we are sponsor free Hilde will still have a surprise gift for the winner.

Have fun and happy crafting !!

Tots to Teens with Sue

Sunday again, don't the weeks fly. I'm enjoying my time at the moment with my son who's flown out here to spend a week with us. It's been great catching up on all the family news. I'm going to miss him when he goes back.

Over at CD Sunday it's Sue's turn to choose the theme and she's chosen 'Tots to Teens'. A great theme and who doesn't enjoy making cards for the youngsters in our lives. So no excuse get those CD out and start creating.

When I began this project I had no one in mind but then I found a link to this site Post Pals . The children all have terminal illnesses and you're invited to send them either mail or little gifts. There's also a bio for each of them. I like that idea as you get to know your recipient better that way as they update you on their progress, Which child to choose is a problem tho. I decided to 'Pal' up with children who have Kidney problems as this is the charity here that is close to my heart.

So this card is for a special little girl called Elle who's 3years old and has just been given a new kidney. After being on dialysis since she was 18 months old this will now give her a better life in the future.

The card is a shaped Princess Dress card which I thought would be ideal for  little 'Princess Elle'.

I cut the dress shape from beige card stock using a template one of my crafters brought to my craft group. The dress was the cut out again from white card stock. I ran the top half through the CB using the dotty folder. For the bottom I used  designer paper from Ooh La La Shawn Jenkins Collection CD. I added two pink buttons,  four flower toppers from a  friend, with added flower sequins from my stash. Then a bow of pink ribbon, from Lidls, was added to finish. I think it's really pretty and I hope it brings a smile to Elle my special little Princess.

Don't forget to pop over to CD Sunday to see the other creations my teamies have made. You won't be disappointed. Then have a go yourself but don't forget you must use a CD  when creating your card.

Have Fun!!

Celebration time

Over at Crafting with Dragonflies we are celebrating our first birthday. The challenge is to make ANY celebration card tho. The fabulous sponsors this fortnight are :

Prize: $15 to spend in the store.

                                                                     Prize: six digis

Prize: $10 to spend in store.

I was lucky enough to play with a digi from Handmade Harbour AND Make it Crafty. So I decided to combine the two on the front of the card.

I embossed the card using a heart embossing folder through the Bug. Then added  Butterfly Masks from Make it Crafty and coloured them with bright sharpies. The greeting tag is from Handmade Harbour. I was trying to create a carnival atmosphere and added handmade 'throws'/ 'confetti' coloured again with bright sharpies but not sure it's worked.....better in my head than on paper. I'm really not happy with this card :(

For the inside of the card I made a pop-up cake and added a candle and greetings. The greetings Happy B'day and Make a Wish are diecuts added to gold mirri card which was punched using a flower shape punch.
For the pop-up cake I used honeycomb paper. The candle was made from gold mirri card and floral paper from my stash. I added beads and sequins to the candle to give it a bit of sparkle.

Please  try to pop over to Crafting with Dragonflies to see the creations my teamies have made. There are some fab prizes to be won from our generous sponsor so go join in this easy peasy challenge you know you want to!!

Pretty flowers from pinspirational

It's time to be (pin)spired again. Over at (pin)spiration challenges Deanne has found a fab field of flowers to inspire the DT's.

And the generous sponsors are:

Prize: 3 digis

Prize: 5 digis

Prize: 4 digis

I was lucky enough to play with a digi from QKR stamps. It's a lovely spray of roses. I printed this out several times and coloured it with pergamano colouring pencils.

This was my first attempt at a circular easel card. I made the template for it myself and cut it all from one sheet of A4 white card stock......easy peasy.
The die cut circle was a gift from an online crafter friend.....thank you xx. Not sure what die she used but if you recognise it please let me know and I'll give credit.....I love it. As you can see I placed the three digi images in the cut out squares on top of pink paper from my stash. The lower circle was white card stock and the outer circle was embellished with Hunkey Dorey embellies that I got in a magazine. The quality is fantastic. I'll be buying more of these. The sentiment "For You", which I used as the stopper, is also Hunkey Dorey.

Now who doesn't like flowers? I think we all do so this is an easy challenge for you. So pop over to (pin)spirational and check out the rest of the inspiration from my teamies. And don't forget our generous sponsors without whom these challenges wouldn't be as much fun!!!
 Happy Crafting xx

Victorian Beauties

Good Sunday Morning to you. I hope the weather in your part of the world is better than it has been here this last week. Yes we've had rain and low threatening clouds. Very unusual for this time of the year. More rain than we had in the Winter. Which was very dry. We do need the rain but I hope this is it now til the Winter......fingers crossed.

Over at CD Sunday it is my turn to choose the challenge. I've gone with Victorian Beauties. I had this lovely CD sent from a dear friend in the UK. Vintage Treasures by Krafty Hands. There are so many fab images on this CD that it was hard to choose which one to use.

I've also chosen an new shape for me. One of my crafty friends here in Cyprus introduced it to us at one of our craft sessions. The top, where the image is, is supposed to spin around but I opted to keep it static. It seemed more appropriate for this card.

The main card is A4 white card stock folded then shaped to a peak at the top. The green DP is also from the same CD. A square of pale green card stock was adhered to the point at top and another brown square was twisted and placed on top with 3D pads. The image and shaped topper are both from the CD.

I've used gold peel offs for the corners and edging. A gold peel off strip across the centre bottom and a further image was placed at an angle. Finally I added the green bow, which I found in my stash and it just happened to be the perfect match......how lucky was that.

Now I know you'll have a Vintage CD tucked away somewhere gathering dust. So dust it off and join in the challenge. I've a little something for the winner waiting to wing it's way from Cyprus to you.

Now pop over to CD Sunday and see what the rest of team A have created for you to drool over this week.

Unstampabelles

Good morning happy crafters. I hope you are all feeling well and tip top this lovely sunny day. Well it is here in Cyprus.......sunshine does make you feel good doesn't it? We've got our wonderful Annual Flower Festival at the church this week. I've been to take a peak and Wow some fab creations. I'll be showing some piccies later in the week.

Over at Unstampabelles for April they are thinking Animals and the twist is pastels. I've just managed to hit the deadline for this.....don't know where the time goes. I like this challenge blog as there's no digi stamps or stamping needed. This suits me as my colouring in is a bit rubbish.

I've use a kit from Crafts You Print....not sure who the artist is.....if anyone recognises the work please let me know and I'll give credit for this fab kit.

Think this style of card is a called a window card but I'm not sure. Anyway it's got a bevelled front with acetate inside the aperture. I enjoyed making this. A bit challenging but I love a challenge. There's a cute little mouse image sitting in a strawberry patch and behind it is it's pretty parasol. I added sequins and feathers from my stash to the parasol and covered the cocktail stick handle.

So I think this has hit the brief for this challenge. An Animal/mouse and pastels/pinks and greens.
