Good morning to you all in blogland. I hope the weather is being as kind to you as it is to us here in Cyprus.
Over at Crafting with Dragonflies this fortnight Hilde has challenged the team to create a card using a CD either as a card or on a card. Wow this really is a challenge!! I've not used a CD on a card before but I love a challenge so here I go with the details of how I made my card.
I used pink card stock and ran it through the Cuttle Bug to emboss it. Then cut it to make a semi circle rocker card. I then stamped the border with what we call here 'penny stamps'. The set I used was flowes and leaves. So I inked them up with pink and purple and green. I had found some fancy silky fibres in my stash that I've had for eons and used that to wrap around the CD. It's variegated pinks and purples so matched perfectly with the stamped border.
We have two generous sponsors for this challenge, Eureka Stamps and QKR Stampede.
I used a Eureka digi, Pansies' and coloured it in matching pinks and purple using bright sharpie pens. I attached it to a greeting tag I made, stamping the same border as the card, and added it to the centre of the CD. The CD was attached to the card with 3D tape.
This was a simple, quick card to make but I'm pleased with the result. Now it's your turn. I'm sure you'll have lots of ideas of your own but if not pop over to see what the rest of the Dragonflies have created. There are some Wow!! ideas there so you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to also visit our very generous sponsors, Eureka Stamps and QKR Stampede.

Good morning fellow crafters. I hope life is being kind to you all. Life has been busy here in Cyprus. We celebrated Easter with friends and then it was a special birthday for a special person in my life. So lots of celebrating and bon homie.

Once more we have some generous sponors donating prizes. They are............
Prize 3 digis
Prize 3 digi sets
Prize $10 Gift Certificate
I got to play with a digi from Fred She Said......thank you Tracey x
The wheelbarrow digi was pre coloured which was fantastic for me because my colouring is pretty rubbish!!
I started with an A4 cream cardstock folded to make A5 card and then cut a section off the front righthand side. I added two strips of card along top and bottom.... going right across to edge of back. I then added a strip of lilac paper from my stash to centre front. And placed the double mounted digi on top, which had been cut with a scalloped circle punch. Along the bottom and top strips I added paper ribbon strips of matching lilac flowers. From the top I hung a tag in the same lilac as centre strip and added a 'Thanks' greeting from Hunky Dorey. It was finished off with lilac roses and ribbon.
This digi was fabulous to work with. It comes in a variety of colour combos or you can have black and white to colour yourself.
Now it's your turn to play. Why don't you visit our generous sponsors and then pop over to (pin)spirational and enter the challenge for a chance to win some great prizes.
Good luck and have fun!!

For Someone Special
Goodmorning Sunday people. I'm scheduling this post as we've gone to the Troodos Mountains for the weekend. To celebrate my OH's special birthday. Thought it might be good to go to the Troodos for a quiet weekend and we haven't been up there for a while.
'For Someone Special' is Beryl's choice for Team A's challenge this week at CD Sunday.
It didn't take me long to know who I would be making this card for. My oldest Granddaughter will be 16 soon. She's grown up to be a delightful young lady. So I went for an image of some very big girls shoes. The CD I'm sure you'll know is Katy Sue's Fabulous Shoes. I was spoilt for choice with all the different colours to choose from. In fact I made two but I felt the brighter colours of the second were more for a young, trendy lady so I went with those.

It's a box card and the template for it is also on the CD. I framed the turquoise card box with a lacey edging using a Martha Stewart Around the Page punch. The image was double mounted on red card stock which matched the red in the shoes perfectly. I put some Ranger gold liquid pearls around the edge and also around the trim of the shoe. I added two more tiny butterflies which were also on the CD and highlighted them and the flowers with liquid pearls. The tiny flowers in the top two corners were punched from two tiny punches that I got in a pack from Lidl's. For the three pansies, bottom right, I used the Punch and Stamp Set from Tonic. I used red card for one and turquoise vellum for the other two. Gold liquid pearls was added to the centres of all the flowers. Finally I punched out the scalloped circle in red card and added the gold number 16. I will be adding a greeting and her name nearer the date which isn't for a little while yet. But the box is made for it too so it'll safely stay in there until needed.
Now it's your turn. I'm sure like me you have lots of Special people in your life to make that Special card for. So pop over to CD Sunday and see what the rest of the team have made to inspire you. You won't be disappointed. Have fun and don't forget to use a CD for your entry to be a chance of a lovely gift.

Mothers Day with the Dragonflies
With Mothers Day coming up soon in Australia this is the theme Hilde has chosen for the Dragonflies this week. We celebrated Mothers Day in March so long gone for us but you can celebrate Mothers anytime of the year as there's always a reason to send your Mum or a special lady in your life a cheery card.
We have two generous sponsors for this challenge:
1. Heather Ellis who has generously supplied a prize of 3 digis
2. Meljen with a generous prize of 4 digis
I was lucky enough to play with one of Meljens digis Victoran Shoe.
I really had fun with this. I decided to enlarge it and make it into a free standing shaped card.....it's got a little stand attached to the back. I cut it out then paper pieced it. I added string and buttons in matching colours. Then I coloured the ivy leaves with bright green sharpy fine line pens.. I twisted wire and string around the boot and added the leaves. I finished off with a gold peel off on the heel and faux stitching on the toe. A tag with Mum was added and hung from the top button.
So get yourself a large mug of coffee and pop over to visit the dragonflies and be inspired by the rest of the DT's creations.
Have fun!!

I got to play with an image from Glamoureyes.
I coloured the digi with a soft pink Pergamano pencil and a turquoise sparkly gel pen......photo doesn't really show the sparkle. The skin and hair were coloured using Spectrum Noir pens. The background paper is from EK Success Baby Pink Fresh Flowers. The strip of turquoise and the topper were made from paper from my stash. I made my own rosette topper to match the ruffle on the dress and hairband of the little girl in the (pin) photo and added a pink button tied with embroidery thread. The deeper pink buttons at the top are from my stash as is the greeting. Then I added three peel off flowers to finish.
Now it's your turn. Our sponsors have lots of images to choose from so take a mo to pop over. Then visit (pin) spirational to see what the rest of the DT's have been having fun with.
Happy crafting!!

Something Old Something New
Good Morning to you from sunny Cyprus.
As nice easy peasy challenge for you this week over at CD Sunday.......Something Old Something New from Team A and Christine's choice. She has been off to sunnier climes for the Winter. A big welcome back Christine.....keep warm.
This should be an easy one for crafters as we're always buying new stuff and we've got plenty of old unused or left over goodies from eons ago. But you might have other takes on the theme. If your mojo needs a boost pop over to CD Sunday and take a peep at what the rest of Team A have come up with to inspire you. Don't forget to be in with a chance of a lovely prize you need to use a CD on your entry and tell us which CD you've used.
Ok so what did I find in my stash that I've had for eons and what was sitting there new and unused but not unloved.
I made this card for my dog crazy grandson. The oldie I used was the border peel off around the image. Can't remember how long it's been in my stash but there was a little bit left on a sheet so I went with that. The new, was some tiny little dice buttons that I bought in a lovely button shop in Paphos.

As he'll be 12 I twisted the numbers around to show three fours but doubt whether he'll notice this!!
The image of the cute puppy is from the lilac garden. Sorry I tried to find a link for you for this site but can't. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated as they have some super decoupage sheets on this site.
The CD I used for the background paper, which matched beautifully with the blue in the image, is from 'Boys to Men' by Ooh La La. The sentiment is one I had in my stash.
Don't forget to pop over to cd sunday and take a peep at the rest of the inspiration from Team A.

Easter with the Dragonflies
Good morning to you from sunny Cyprus. Think Summer's started early here. Hurrah!! Hope you all enjoyed blog hopping with the Dragonflies last week. I'll post later who won the little prize for commenting on my blog.
Over at Crafting with the Dragonflies this week it's Easter already!! We have two fab sponsors and some great prizes.
Prize: 3 images of winners choice

Prize: 3 images of winners choice
Prize:7 images of winners choice
Two very generous sponsors don't you think!! Thank you so much.
We were lucky to get digis from both sponsors to play with. I made the first card using a digi from Squigglefly.
I use A4 card from my stash and folded it lengthways to create a tall DL card. I then covered it in spotty yellow paper from my stash. The long piece of orange card down the centre is attached with an orange polka dot brad to create a free swinging pendulum. There's a double mounted strip of card across the centre to slot it down. I coloured in the digi with bright fine ink pens. Then punched a circle shape of green card and circle cut the image and mounted it off centre. Finally I added a bow to the bottom and Easter embellishments down and across the pendulum. A card with a bit of movement that I hope the grandchildren will find fun.
Challenges: scrap-creations GGSC 174.......Spring
For my second card I used a digi image from Bugaboo.
The base green card was folded landscape or tent fold and yellow card stock was mounted on top. The four squares are cut out of paper and stick-on Easter embellishments were placed on each 'window'. The tag was made using the same card and the image coloured with soft pencils and adhered to the centre. I added bright coloured grograin ribbon to the top and 3 yellow chicks and an Easter greeting.
A strip of summery flowers were placed across the bottom of the main card. Voila!!
I've enjoyed 'playing' with my Easter images and I'm sure you will too. Just pop over to Crafting with Dragonflies (link on sidebar) and be inspired by the rest of the team. Then get yourself another cuppa and visit our generous sponsors.
Remember Have Fun and Happy Crafting!!!

(pin)spirational piccie
The piccie this week from (pin)spirational is a lovely Turtle. We have a Turtle sanctuary here in Cyprus down at Lara Beach. It's a great attraction but you have to be aware that you mustn't disturb them. Fascinating creatures!
Isn't he/she a stunner!
We have some generous sponsors this week.

prize: 3 sets
prize: 7 digis
prize: info later
Our generous sponsors gave use some fab digis to play with. I was lucky enough to receive a cute one from Imagine That. It's an adorable image of a really laid back frog riding on a turtle. Party Animals Hoppy BD 2 You. Also a fab background paper.....Beach Papers Bella Beauties.
For the card base I used A4 card from my stash and folded it lengthwise to create a large/tall DL card. The digi was pre coloured so that was a great start as I'm not too keen on colouring in. I used a sizzex die to cut around the image and mounted it on pale green card. I found some matching green DP paper in my stash to cover the card then added a strip of turtle background paper, also from Imagine That, down the centre. I edged the strip with a wavy silver peel off. I found a 'Party' brad in green in my stash and put that on some green card stock. To balance the card I also added three flower brads to the same card stock and put the toppers top and bottom. I finished the image off with three green sequins and outlined the balloon sentiment with a gold bead strip from my stash.
I hope you find time to visit our sponsors this week and pop over to pinspirational to see what the rest of the team have created. I'm sure you'll be tempted to join in.
Don't forget to have fun.
