Well what a beautiful sunny day it is here in Cyprus. No it's not sunny here all the time......especially in Winter. The sun gives everyone a feel good factor. So I've spent some of the day crafting.....that makes me feel good.

I've recently found a blog called CD Sunday challenges. Every Sunday they give you a challenge to make a card using a different theme each week. The extra challenge is to make it with images or backgrounds from a CD of your choice.

It's thanks to Angie at 'Owl Lady Crafting' that I found this blog and consequently it encouraged me to begin a blog of my own. If you haven't visited Angie yet you're missing a treat as her cards are amazing!!

Anyway back to today and my crafting. I decided to make a birthday card using the theme set by CD Sunday of  'Hugs and Wishes' I found a lovely Joanne Sheen CD 'Say it with Flowers' which fitted the theme perfectly.

I used a delicate lilac piece of card stock 27 x 21cms. Scored and folded it to make the card and then  cut the front of the card at 7cm. This was covered with matching background paper from the CD.The  tiny bouquets on the background paper match perfectly with the main bouquet image. I also used a strip 3cms wide down the edge of the back of the card thus leaving a strip of the delicate lilac showing.

The main bouquet image is 8 x 13cms and I double mounted this on cerise pink handmade paper. The colour picks out perfectly one of the colours of the flowers in the bouquet, These flowers cry out for flower soft I thought. I then added a two tone pink bow  and tiny peel off bows at each corner.

So what remains is for me to link it to the CD Sunday blog and I'm finished. But how do I do this. Help someone!!

I thought I'd begin by showing you some of my altered note books and mini boxes that I make for the charity I support in Paphos.
The charity raises monies for the Renal Unit at the General Hospital, The Ex Pats Friends of Kidney Sufferers Paphos. I have been a committee member since first arriving on the island. In fact at the same time as I began card making. I thought making and selling my cards and crafty things  would be a way of supporting the charity and keeping me from boredom at the same time. I am certainly not bored here in Cyprus......not enough hours in the day sometimes.
